Vpn Tunnel Keeps Dropping
I noticed if i rename the network object for site b zone.
Vpn tunnel keeps dropping. 192 168 28 0 24 on the site a s router the ping works for about a minute then stops responding again. I had a problem with it about 6 months ago which turned out to be an old machine configured with the same ip. Here are some of the more common reasons.
Temporarily disable vpn monitor to see if the vpn stays up and data passes thru the vpn. The tunnel would still be up though. No enable the vpn monitor optimize setting and test the vpn connection again.
Client s tunnel test packets might be dropped by vpn gateway after decryption due to anti spoofing. Both sides will show green. Virtually all vpns already slow down your internet connection but when your vpn connection keeps dropping in the middle of a session it can cause data loss or disrupt file synchronization.
There are many reasons why privatetunnel might be dropping its connection. But vpns don t work if your connection is randomly disconnecting. It will usually renegotiate the tunnel but when it does it often stops passing traffic over the tunnel.
After decryption when the office mode ip address is visible the security gateway performs an anti spoofing check. For assistance from the webui uncheck the vpn monitor box or from the cli unset the vpn vpn monitor command for the vpn in question i e. Also verify that you have the latest firmware on both routers which should be 2 0 0 8 for v2.
The connection has worked solidly for months on end now it s started dropping again we ve made no changes recently so we re a little puzzled. If the idle timeout is set to 30 minutes default it means that it drops the tunnel after 30 minutes of no traffic passes through it. Turn the keep alive option on for both routers and see if that makes any difference for you.
