Aws Vpc Peering Use Cases
Instaclustr supports vpc peering as a mechanism for connecting directly to your instaclustr managed cluster.
Aws vpc peering use cases. It is neither a gateway nor a vpn connection and does not rely on a separate piece of physical hardware. As per aws documentation. Share private and public subnets with accounts.
Use the aws cli to create a vpc with an associated ipv6 cidr block and a public subnet and a private subnet each with an associated ipv6 cidr block. Vpc peering allows you to access your cluster via private ip and makes for a much more secure network setup. Vpc peering enables the creation of one to one networking connections between two or more vpcs in the same aws region and even between different aws accounts.
An aws privatelink service provider configures instances running services in their vpc with a network load balancer as the front end. Aws uses the existing infrastructure of a vpc to create a vpc peering connection. Use intra region vpc peering vpcs are in the same region and inter region vpc peering vpcs are in different regions with aws privatelink to allow private access to consumers across vpc peering connections.
